Guide to Living Your Purpose

“ The things you need in life are those that will help you fulfill your dominant purpose. Things you want but may not need may lead you aside from that purpose. It is only by making everything serve your main objective that success is attained.”

~ Paramahansa Yogananda

As we welcome the new energy of 2025, I’m thrilled to host a special workshop with my Women’s Circle during January’s New Moon. This gathering is inspired by the profound wisdom shared by my mentor and life coach — a transformative gift that has guided me to align my goals with a deeper, more meaningful sense of purpose in every aspect of my life. I’ve added my own personal touches to this workshop by integrating healing practices and guided meditations to make it truly magical.

It is with heartfelt gratitude that I share the details of this workshop with you, inviting you to embark on a sacred journey to connect with your soul’s purpose and fill your life with joy, alignment, and radiant fulfillment.

Goals of the Workshop:

  • Discover Your Flow of Happiness: Understand what brings you joy and how to bring more of it into your daily life.

  • Clarify Your Purpose: Create a Purpose Statement and identify actions to align your goals with your authentic self.

Step 1: Reflect and Explore

Find a quiet, cozy space, and write down the following:

  1. Your Strengths: What are your top 5? Think of common feedback themes you’ve received throughout your life from loved ones, colleagues, coaches, or mentors. Keep it simple.

  2. Your Blind Spots: Identify 3-5 areas where you have opportunity for growth.

  3. What Fills Your Cup: Reflect on what brings you true happiness and contentment. Consider:

    • What excites or challenges you in a way that feels fulfilling?

    • What did you love to do as a child? This can be a helpful insight that we don’t want to lose touch with as an adult.

    • Don’t forget to add the things that may be outside of your comfort zone, but still bring you pure joy.

If you can, incorporate feedback from others to get a different perspective. I also recommend including insights from Strength Finders or Gene Keys, but that is certainly not required.

Step 2: Create Your Life’s Tracks

Define the 4 most important areas of your life. Common tracks include:

  1. Family/Friends

  2. Career

  3. Passions

  4. A personal joy or theme unique to you (e.g., nature, creativity). Mine is “Outdoors.”

Then use the list you created in Step 1 that details “what fills your cup” and connect them to your 4 tracks. To do this, I recommend creating a document (digital or handwritten) that allows you to tally the list of “what fills your cup” next to each of the 4 categories. Below is an example of my 4-Track Analysis. Note where things overlap, as these are powerful connections!

Step 3: Balance and Expand

Reflect on which tracks feel abundant and which may need more attention. Ask yourself:

  • How can you weave joy across multiple tracks?

  • What small steps can you take to fill the gaps?

For example, if nature and connection bring you joy, consider inviting a friend on a hike to nurture both.

Step 4: Enjoy a Guided Meditation

We’ll deepen our understanding through meditation, calling on spirit guides, ancestors, and inner wisdom to guide us. Visualize your purpose and feel its alignment within you.

Step 5: Define Your Purpose Statement

It may feel daunting at this point to create a purpose statement, but don’t feel pressured or overwhelmed because your purpose statement can always be evolving, just like you! Think of it as a guiding star. The goal of defining your purpose statement is to help guide you in the direction of your authentic self.

It might be as simple as “Helping others find balance” or “Sharing creativity with the world.”

I have defined my purpose statement as “Helping people live a healthier life.”

Step 6: Map Your Goals

This is where the magic happens!

Create a visual representation of how your goals lead to your purpose. Think of it as a trail with milestones marking your progress. Let this visualization inspire your journey forward.

Here is an example of a map I created using a mountain as inspiration. I used trail markers and campsites as goals to guide me to the top of the mountain towards my purpose.

Pro Tips:

  • Define the skills needed to add to your hiking pack to help you climb to the top of the mountain.

  • Lean on your strengths to help get you to the top. Determine how to make your blind spots work for you, whether it’s taking a class, practicing a skill, finding a mentor to support you, or just recognizing when to highlight your strengths more.

Always be true to your authentic self

This workshop is a celebration of growth, connection, and purpose — a journey to align your life with the joy and authenticity that your soul desires.

I am deeply honored to hold this sacred space for us to explore, transform, and flourish together. I look forward to sharing this beautiful experience with you.
